David A. Day and Beth Prussia Day

We would like to share a few pictures, some info, our interests, etc, with a special welcome to those of you who somehow happen to bumble here like Alice down a computer hole, but out of extreme uncontrollable curiosity choose to stay and find out just what a guy who "beats up rocks for a living" and his lapidary artist, retired dangerous goods specialist wife might have up their internet sleeves.

Cab Collection - Keepers

Beth spent the day with one of the grandchildren yesterday and they decided to make some jewelry. While they were looking at one of the keeper collections of gemstones for inspiration, I took advantage of the opportunity to snap this photo. A "keeper" in case you don't know is something you save for yourself anticipating just such moments.  While frequently they are some of the best examples of your work, they often have other reasons for inclusion.

We have had a space on Etsy for some time, however we have not used it to sell until now. If you are unfamiliar with Etsy, it is a an online gallery for Artist and Craftspeople plus a MATERIALS and SUPPLIES source for those who want to make their own. This is not an auction site. We have always intended to sell cut stones on Etsy to other craftspeople and have finally gotten around to making that happen. I have had great time following the STEAMPUNK movement there. It is most entertaining to watch what others are doing around the world, particularly the many creative ways talented people are re-purposing what would otherwise go to landfill.

25 Seconds of Extreme Tranquility

A short video I made from one of my screen-savers developed from a hand painted slide from my undergraduate school days. The screensaver is titled Cave Lake. This should really be seen on a BIG screen.
